Harvesting Hope – Community Mapping!
Over the previous weekend, Dysterjordet andelslandbruk co-hosted and participated in an event called Harvesting Hope. As part of the event, we asked participants to map who, what, or where in Ås sparks hope or connection for them in the local community. Now, we are excited to publish the first rendition below.
Together with BUA – Ås Kooperativ, Økologisk Norge, Ås Økolag, and supported by the NMBU Sustainability Sub’s Sustainable Food Systems Arena, we shared stories + perspectives on hope to around 45 guests throughout the afternoon. We were honored to have the poetry folk duo, Håp open the event for us with a lovely musical performance and wise words. The event focused on cooperative farming and co-ops as examples of local solutions to global problems, and we asked our participants to reflect on their own sources of hope. The map below showcases some of what helps us feel hopeful in and beyond Ås.
